Bound in an old attractive full leather binding elaborately decorated in gilt, 6.25 inches tall approx., 438 pages plus index. The binding is worn with some loss and small splits at base of spine though boards firmly attached, some wear and dulling to the gilt on the upper board, internally old ownership bookplate to front pastedown, some wear and loss to front free endpaper (pictured) there is some worming to lower inner edge that affects opening few pages, some occasional marks and light creasing wear to tops of pages else in good general condition.

One of Witwer's less common titles to be found in original printed dustjacket. A penciled note at front pastedown states that these stories were made into short reel films. Very Good to Near Fine, contemporary bookplate at front free endpaper, in Very Good plus dustjacket, tiny chips at spine ends, general shelf wear.
Later printing. Very good in a dust jacket splitting at the rear flap fold. Presentation copy; inscribed by the author, as well as the director and other members of the cast and crew to Rosalind Russell, star of the 1945 film of the same title. The author has inscribed it, 'wanted you to play it more than anyone - and now we're finished for once in my life, I was right! Love, Louise.' Her co-star Jack Carson inscribed the book. 'Rosalind - It was great fun being married to you, even for such a little while. Let's try it again - Thanks so much - Jack.' Also inscribed by director Michael Curtiz and crew members David Weisbart (editor) and Fred de Cordova (dialogue director).
