Add to basketHardcover. Condition: Fine. Limited Edition. Decorative Boards. No Jacket as Issued. Private Press Special Numbered Edition. Signed by Illustrator. RARE and extremely special numbered and signed edition. Limited to 1500 copies worldwide, of which this is number 42. Not only SIGNED by the artist but each one of the sixteen etchings is hand coloured. The edition was designed, and the printing of it supervised, by Francis Meynell. The production by the Oxford University Press was on a hand made watercolour paper. The chief joy of this book must be the wonderful hand coloured etchings, which are both typical of the period they were made - 1934 - but also true of the immortal characters in this still amusing play. There are very few of these copies available, so this is a RARE opportunity for collectors. The cover paper has been hand printed and no two copies are precisely the same. This edition involved a great deal of individual hand work, which is why it is so sought after. As with all copies, there is some foxing to the pages, particularly noticeable on the front and rear end papers. 0.0 0.0 0.0. Signed by Illustrator.
