He and H. E. Bates were friends and wrote to one another. Julia Braddock was possibly his daughter? Bates had four children, two sons, and two daughters called Ann & Judith. H. E. Bates (1905 Ð 1974) was an author best known for 'The Darling Buds of May' and 'Love for Lydia'. browned. Head and tail of spine very slightly split at hinge else sound, edges of covers and spine a little - near very good. Signedes.
