A very good set overall: heavy offsetting to endpapers with occasional spotting and intermittent pencilled underlings throughout, National Portrait Gallery postcard with portrait of Austen pasted to front free endpaper of Pride and Prejudice, ink underlinings restricted only to the Introduction of Emma; spines slightly faded, light shelf wear to extremities, a few small patches of faint marking to cloth.

Some have their original page markers. The bindings are clean and some have slight fading - particularly to the spines. P&P II and MP II have some browning at the bottom edge of the back board. Emma I has a bump to the bottom corner of the back board. Some have light browning to endpapers and occasional some brown marking at the endpaper joints. The majority of tissue guards have been replaced. Contents are generally clean and sound with the occasional small mark or light spot. There are a few professional paper repairs.
