Gene Autry &Stills from Movie. Condition: VG+/neat Name on Cover. 1st Thus. M.M. Cole first copyrighted this sheet music in 1938 not in 1932 as other entries are indicating. Gene Autry Copyrighted it 1932. This edition concurs with the release of the movie Tumbling Tumbleweeds. Also depicts guitar chording. Size: Folio - over 12" - 15" tall.

Sheet Music. Condition: Very Good. Large format sheet music with B&W portrait photo of Gene Autry and four more photographic stills fom the movie, The Phantom Empire. The sheet music is in excellent condition except for rectangular residue from an old sticker on the top left edge near "Gene." Some of the residue actuall touches the "G." There is a corner crease on the lower right corner and expected light aging. Gene Autry first recorded "Silver Haired Daddy of Mine" in 1931. However, it did not achieve popularity until it was used in two 1935 Autry movies, "Tumbling Tumbleweeds" and "The Phantom Empire." So this particular sheet music dates from 1935. The references to and images of "The Phantom Empire" are significant in that this movie lauched Autry's movie career and because of the wonderfully bizarre storyline of the movie which posits that Autry, a radio cowboy is secret battling underground aliens from Mu. Go figure. None of the images from the movie suggest the full scope of "The Phantom Empire." Both Gene Autry and "The Phantom Empire" have a featured part in Ken Burns' new documentary, Country Music.; B&W Photographs on Cover; 4to 11" - 13" tall; 5 +covers pages.
