First Edition
Half-Leather. Condition: Good +. First Edition. This book is not a reprint. It is an original 1848 First Edition. It was apparently rebound at one time, although not recently. Half bound maroon leather with marbleized paper with embossed and gold gilt spine. Considerable edge wear all around, but still very tight and solid. Text pages are tight and clean. Gift inscription on front fly-leaf. All 16 plates are present, but the one on page 60 is loose and laid in and is apparently from a different publication, although it seems to have the same picture - Robert Fulton, the North River or Cleremont. 1848 First Edition.
