Boards are partly detached from spine and there is wear to head/foot of spine. Corners rubbed to boards with scuffing and wear to calf. FFE has small portion at top cut out, otherwise clean end papers and b/w frontis. Contents, including index are clean.

Two complete sets in five volumes. 470pp; 352pp; 401pp. 499pp; 503pp. Bright red straight-grain morocco tooled in blind and gold on the sides, spines in compartments with gold and blind decorations and gilt lettering, all edges gilt, gilt inner dentelles, marbled endpapers. Engraved frontispieces. With the armorial bookplates of Edward Huth of Wykehurst Park (son of merchant banker and prominent bibliophile Henry Huth) on the front pastedown endpapers. Spines uniformly darkened, light wear to corner tips and edges (with the exception of one volume that shows heavier wear to upper corner tips), one volume does not have tissue paper on the frontispiece. Overall, two extremely nice sets with a fascinating provenance. ; 16mo.
