Nine stories, including 'Vanka', 'The Hollow' ('V ovrage'), and concluding with the 'Little Trilogy'; a scarce edition, among the first translations of his stories into English, the work here undertaken by an aristocrat, who had travelled in Russia - she was the daughter of Sir Cecil Edmund Lister-Kaye, 4th Bt and Lady Beatrice Adeline Pelham-Clinton, and would later marry Conte Guglielmo de la Feld.
