Thomas Sidney Cooper RA (1803-1902), was born in Canterbury,he specialised in paintings of cattle or sheep, which earned him the nickname of 'Cow Cooper'. He became one of the most accomplished and successful animal landscape painters of the 19th century.

Add to basketHardcover. Condition: Poor. No Jacket. Bound in brown buckram, binding only just holding. Gilt title on leather label with tooling to front panel. Front hinge split, fep and title page present but detached and very creased and chipped around the edges. Complete set of 32 plates, still tidy and nicely bound, (no 26 mis-labelled a…s 24). Rear ep detached but present, spine nearly detached from binding. Light foxing throughout but plates generally clean. Title page and plates 5 and 7 also present from Part 2. All badly chipped and torn around the edges and again lightly foxed w small green water-colour mark to top RH corner Plate 5.
