Tout en narrant, les événements qui ont abouti au meurtre de l'imam, l'auteur rapporte, avec précision, les raisons qui ont déclenché cette malheureuse sédition ainsi que les mobiles qui ont poussé les assassins à agir de la sorte. Pour donner plus de poids à ses assertions, l'auteur s'est basé sur une méthode critique reposant sur des faits historiques réels. Il n'a aménagé en cela, aucun effort pour attaquer, soit ceux qui ont dénigré la politique de l'imam, soit ceux qui ont accusé les Sahabah d'être derrière sans meurtre.
