Soft cover. Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. pp: 168. Bound in pictorial card covers. Text in English and French. By way of introduction, the Textile Museum of Canada was established in 1975, and began acquiring objects for its collection. Unlike many other world famous Western museums, these objects were legally obtained. The examples in this volume are from an area of Asia that was central to the historic Silk Road; Turkey, The Caucasus, Kyrgyzstan, Iraq, and Mongolia. There are more than one hundred rugs highlighted in this volume, many from the Textile Museum, but also from the Nickle Galleries in Calgary, and from private collections throughout the country. The illustrations include full page detailed colour photos, as well as smaller colour photos. Each exhibit has descriptions, details of source, age, and material. The cover of the book is very good with moderate edge wear. The text is near fine with no markings, or extraneous notes.
