Soft cover. Condition: Near fine. 1st Edition. 1st Edition. Soft cover. Signed by Author. Very Scarce Presentation Copy by O'Flaherty to J. R. Well, dated 1927. One of One Hundred Copies Privately Printed. 8vo - Pink and purple wrappers very slightly darkened at top edge and crown of spine. An extremely good example. Some pages uncut. This short story of a member of the IRA is truly indicative of O'Flaherty's brilliance. His works often reflect his involvement in and views on the political turmoil of early 20th-century Ireland. Signed by Author.

O'Flaherty served on the Western Front and was a member of the Communist Party of Ireland; this short story concerns the intention of an IRA member to bomb a theatre. It was published in spring of 1926 in The New Coterie, II. Small quarto, pp. [12]. Original purple marbled self-wrappers, front cover lettered in black. Housed in a custom green cloth chemise and morocco-backed slipcase. Closed tear at foot of front wrapper, slight toning to free endpapers, a few faint marks to contents: near-fine.
