This short story of a member of the IRA is truly indicative of O'Flaherty's brilliance. His works often reflect his involvement in and views on the political turmoil of early 20th-century Ireland. It was published in spring of 1926 in The New Coterie, II. Small quarto, pp. [12]. Original purple marbled self-wrappers, front cover lettered in black. Housed in a custom green cloth chemise and morocco-backed slipcase. Closed tear at foot of front wrapper, slight toning to free endpapers, a few faint marks to contents: near-fine.
