Green cloth rubbed; gilt stamping to spine and front board remains bright; slight nicking/fraying to cloth at spine ends and board corners. Deckle fore-edge and bottom edge. Remnant impressions of past bookseller's erased notations on front free endpaper; author's ink signature "James Stephens" upon half-title page; slight slender soiling occurring to some leaves at their deckle edge overlaps but otherwise pages are clean. Binding is firm. Publisher's "first edition" statement and limitation with hand-written ink copy# on unpaged rear colophon.
