The first edition, first impression of the work. With the original unclipped dust wrapper designed by John Minton. This copy with the bookplate and contemporary previous owner's inscription, 'John and Beryl Richmond', to the recto of the front free endpaper.Uncommon.William Sansom was a British novelist and the author of several short stories produced during the twentieth-century. His writing has been described as distinctly Kafkaesque and often drew inspiration from his experiences as a firefighter in London during the Blitz.
