Cloth Bound. Condition: Fine. A very special copy of the 1944 first edition, with the following inscription by the author: "For my C.O. - Without your foreword the book would lack distinction; without your generous co-operation I would not have written it. April 1944". I cannot make out the actual name used by the author (? Cherie) but assume it is a familiar or middle name which she used with friends. See photograph of this inscription and other photos of the book attached here. The foreword was written by Dame Regina Evans. The 168-page text is in fine, tight, clean condition. Binding also in fine condition, apart from very slight wear at the bottom of the spine. Signed and inscribed by author.
