Sans original slipcase, but with 128 pp. and six sketches on fold-out pages and 123 photographic reproductions of superior quality printed on high-gloss, coated paper. Volume contains scholarly apparatus in the form of, e.g., notes, index, and bibliography. Volume I 128 pp.; Volume II consists wholly of full-color plates. Born in 1925 in Friborg, Germany and having died in 1991, Jean Tinguely was considered to be an influential and prolific "Nouveux Réaliste". The author writes that "Tinguely invented neither the rehabilitation of scrap nor sculpture in motion. His originality is to have brought these two currents together." His sculpture and assemblages recall the best works of Kurt Schwitters, ans Arp, Alexander Calder and Marcel Duchamp.Member, I.O.B.A., C.B.A., and adherent to the highest ethical standards. White paper labels with printed title pasted on front board and spine. Head darkened and slightly stained. First 8 pages have minor stains along the head, except for page 4, which has larger stains. Generally the text block is clean (unless where noted), unmarked, and square with a strong binding. Images are bright and clear. The spine and boards are sunned. Part of the title on the spine has been rubbed off. Minor dampstain along the front foot. A good copy overall.
