El lector encontrará en sus páginas reseñas del arte, emoción y zozobra de quienes se jugaron la vida en el ruedo coruñés, saliendo triunfadores o abroncado…s. Y la tragedia con las muertes del novillero Andrés Gallego; los subalternos Cerrajillas y Dientes y sobre todo un episodio acaecido en agosto de 1934 y que cambiaría la historia del toreo para siempre. La muerte de un espectador, aquella tarde aciaga del verano coruñés, gran aficionado, Cándido Roig Roura, en el instante en que Juan Belmonte manejaba el estoque de matar. Tras un derrote del toro, este salió despedido hacia los tendidos yéndose a clavar en el pecho del aficionado, que fallecería momentos después en la enfermería de la plaza coruñesa. En el ruedo de aquella tercera plaza coruñesa, inaugurada en 1885, tuvieron lugar las alternativas de Alfonso Cela Celita el único torero gallego hasta la fecha, sucedida en 1912; la alternativa en 1929 del sevillano Maera con la presencia entre el público del escritor Ernest Hemingway y el gran acontecimiento taurino celebrado en 1944 que constituyó la alternativa de aquel grandísimo torero que se llamó Luis Miguel Dominguín. O la gran amistad que aquel irrepetible Manolete tuvo con sus amigos coruñeses. El ambiente de fiesta de La Coruña, que rodeó a sus recordadas ferias taurinas, honradas desde 1940 a 1967 con la presencia del Jefe del Estado Francisco Franco que presidió varios festejos, así como muchos apuntes de los sucesos más destacados de la inigualable historia patria, acaecidos en ese largo periodo de 1850 a 1967.
