Toyen (born Marie ermínová; 21 September 1902 - 9 November 1980) was a Czech painter, drafter, and illustrator and a member of the surrealist movement. Günter Hujber (born 1966) is a Czech graphic artist celebrated for his mastery of traditional printmaking techniques and his significant contributions to the world of Ex-Libris (bookplates). Hujber predominantly works with intaglio methods such as etching (C2), Drypoint (C4) and mezzotint (C7), creating atmospheric works that often explore themes of mythology, history, and the human figure. Plats et intérieur frais malgré d'infimes rousseurs éparses. Le livre de Benjamin Péret, non mis dans le commerce, est tirée à 273 exemplaires numérotés sur papier d'Auvergne à la main du Moulin Richard de Bas ( n° 102 ). Il contient 5 compositions de Marie Cerminova dite Toyen, dont une pointe sèche originale en frontispice, coloriée à la main, numérotée et signée par l'artiste. Le livre de Jehan Mayoux, destiné à accompagner l'exemplaire correspondant de l'histoire naturelle de Benjamin Péret, non mis dans le commerce, est tirée lui aussi à 273 exemplaires numérotés sur papier d'Auvergne à la main du Moulin Richard de Bas ( n° 102 ) et contient une eau-forte numérotée et signée par Charles Le Bars, située en frontispice, ainsi qu'une dédicace autographe signée, de Jehan Mayoux . Ces ouvrages étaient destinés aux souscripteurs. Rarissime ensemble de ces deux éditions originales, en superbe état général.

Very good or better; with very faint soil to wrappers. Third edition (but first illustrated) of the acclaimed novel by Van?ura (1891-1942), an early member of the Dev?tsil avant-garde group and co-formulator of the Poetism movement. This edition was the first to feature the illustrations by Czech surrealist artist Toyen (Marie Cermínová, 1902-1980). An important, outstanding association copy, warmly inscribed by Van?ura and Toyen to Vít?zslav Nezval (1900-1958) in the year of publication, "for his passionate praise." Nezval was another leading light of Czech poetism and, later, surrealism, and an early member of Dev?tsil famous both for his energy as an organizer of the avant-garde and for his prolific output of highly lyrical and associative verse. Cover featured in Vloemans 2012 (no. 164).
