Cloth. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Good. Reprint of First Edition. xxxiii + 308 pages, reprint of first edition published in the same year, illustrated in b/w with Frontispiece of Renishaw Hall (where Georgiana Sitwell lived, which was later puchased by Queen Victoria) after a drawing by Rex Whistler and 16 other illustrations. Preface by Osbert Sitwell, text edited by Osbert Sitwell, Book I - The Dew, It Lyes On the Wood, being the Reminiscences of Georgiana Caroline Sitwell, afterwards Mrs. Campbell Swinton of Kimmerghame. Book II - Vestals and Vestries, being the Journal of Miss Florence Alice Sitwell. Dustwrapper torn with loss at head of spine, and worn at corners, now covered in mylar to protect it. On the first free endpaper there is an inscription by Osbert Sitwell, dated 1943, in which he dedicates this particular volume to 'The French in Great Britain Fund' and quotes some lines from 'The Vision'. There was a Poets' Reading at the Aeolian Hall on Wednesday, April 14th at 4:45 in Aid of the French in Great Britain Fund - it is quite likely that this volume was donated on that occasion.
