First edition, signed limited issue, number 19 of 95 copies signed by the author, printed on special paper, and issued with a slipcase. This collection of 70 poems includes some of Cummings's most experimental and memorable pieces, including "somewhere i have never travelled". It is from the library of the literary couple Walter and Dorothy Donnelly, including their illustrated bookplate. Dorothy (1903-1994) was an acclaimed poet and essayist who wrote for the French magazine transition, and Walter (1900-1981) was editor of the University of Michigan Press. Firmage A11b. Tall octavo. Original dark silver quarter cloth, spine lettered in silver, grey board sides, edges uncut. With original glassine jacket. Housed in publisher's card slipcase. With remnants of original glassine jacket loosely inserted. Slipcase lightly rubbed and with wear to edges, pencilled reference to his book CIPOW on rear: a fine copy in very good slipcase.
