Condition notes: a solid and collectible first printing of a collection of reflections on the role of weather in war. Binding sound and just off square; spine ends rolled w fraying beginning to head; tanning w moderate foxing to edges; interior generally tanned, unmarked but for author inscription. This copy is inscribed by the author to his colleague Philips, the latter then a dean at Harvard, while the author was professor of meteorology at Harvard and director of the Blue Hill Observatory; Franklin Delano Roosevelt was an admirer of McAdie's essays.
