With full-page black and white illustrations throughout. Spotting to top edge of textblock and boards, light rolling to spine, light rubbing to jacket edges. A near fine, clean copy. 'When The Riviera Was Ours' discusses British Travel to the South of France in the 18th and 19th centuries. Howarth is the author of numerous works of history, biography and criticism. The inscription reads "Mary and Giorgio Pasallini, with very best wishes, Pat (Patrick Howarth), I'm only sorry the cats can't read it too". Signed.
