3 Antique prints, titled: 'III - Old oak, Sufford Park' - (with: 'Spademill Pool', 'View in Sufford Park, near Streetly wood'). Two peasants gathering wood near a large gnarled tree. Drypoint etching and engraving on Wove (vellin) and Japanese paper. Description: F.G. Fleay: 'The land of Shakespeare'. London: Bumpus 1889. This book was printed in an edition of 300 copies on antique paper and 20 copies on Japanese paper. Artists and Engravers: Made by 'John MacPherson' after own design. The smaller engravings often signed 'Dawson sc.' (engraved by Dawson), and most are also monogrammed J.MP. or MacPherson (who designed the illustrations and etched the main plates). Condition: Excellent, given age. Some spots in margin. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
