ONE OF THE SCARCEST "BB" TITLES, SIGNED BY THE AUTHOR. 72pp, woodcut frontispiece, map and chapter headings by the author, title page signed by the author, slight stain to fore edge, green cloth with gilt spine lettering, dust jacket rather edgeworn with some loss to top of spine and a fairly large stain to rear cover, smaller stain to front, unclipped. Size: 8vo. Fishing.

Drypoint etching and engraving on Wove (vellin) and Japanese paper. Description: F.G. Fleay: 'The land of Shakespeare'. London: Bumpus 1889. This book was printed in an edition of 300 copies on antique paper and 20 copies on Japanese paper. Artists and Engravers: Made by 'John MacPherson' after own design. The smaller engravings often signed 'Dawson sc.' (engraved by Dawson), and most are also monogrammed J.MP. or MacPherson (who designed the illustrations and etched the main plates). Condition: Excellent, given age. Some spots in margin. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
