Christopher Samuel Youd's first novel under the pseudonym John Christopher as he is known in the speculative ficiton world. An uncommong title on the market. First edition of this book, which was later released in the USA under the title 'Planet in Peril'. A VG+ or better book, clean boards and crisp white lettering on teh spine. Dealer note in pencil on front end-paper. Dealer sticker on back endpaper. VG unclipped jacket, some marks from cellotape used to strengthen the inside of the dust jacket, showing on the outside of jacket in small sections. Small tear at the bottom of spine. Now with a clear protective archival cover.

Add to basketCondition: Very Good +. Jacket Condition: Very Good +. 1st Edition, 12.5 x 19cm black cloth with white titles to the spine, 270(2)pp, in original unclipped jacket priced at 12s 6d. The boards are clean with bright white titles and firm sharp corners. There is a tiny 2mm split at the foot of the spine and a small ding along the top edge of the front board. Internally the book is very clean with no name inscription or bookplate, and faint toning to a strip on both free endpapers where the dust jacket does not reach. There is just a hint of uniform toning to the books. The dust jacket, which is now protected in a removable, clear cover (not shown), has a little toning to the spine and light dust staining and toning to the edges of the rear panel. There are two closed tears to the front panel measuring 0.8 and 1.3 cm on the front panel. All in all a really lovely 1st edition copy of this John Christopher's first novel.
