Queen Elizabeth II childhood portrait photograph print. Rare signed photographic print of Queen Elizabeth II at the age of nine, before the abdication of King Edward VIII in 1936, when her father was still the Duke of York, photographed by Marcus Adams, the first to ever take official photographs of Princess Elizabeth and her mother the Duchess of York and who photographed the royal family for thirty years. Signed by Queen Elizabeth, "Elizabeth of York." Additionally signed and dated by the photographer, "Marcus Adams 1935." The print measures 11 inches by 8 inches. Triple matted and framed. Together with letter from Royal Archives authenticating the signature. The entire piece measures 21.5 inches by 16 inches. An exceptional piece of history. Elizabeth II has been Queen of the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand since 6 February 1952. She ascended the throne at the age of 25, upon the death of her father, King George VI, on 6 February 1952, and was proclaimed queen by her various privy and executive councils shortly afterwards. The coronation took place more than a year later on June 2, 1953 because of the tradition that holding such a festival is inappropriate during the period of mourning that follows the death of a monarch.
