When the protagonist Emmett Farmer is sent to become an apprentice to the master binder, he makes a chilling discovery; that one of the books already has his name on it. Shortlisted for the Waterstones book of the year, one Goodreads reviewer writes "If I could bind my memories into a book, I would start with the time I spent reading this". signed by author or artist.
