The publisher George Bentley's copy, with his bookplate to the verso of both free endpapers, and occasional pencilled notes to the margins (e.g. 'Too much introspection for a thoroughly healthy mind'); subsequently Barry Humphries' copy, with his bookplate to front pastedown of first volume. Spines cocked, slight offsetting to endpapers, and a small, lightly pencilled sketch to rear pastedown, else a very good set. Subsequently republished, in 1888, in a single volume only.
