327 pages. Collection of book reviews, essays, reminiscences and parodies, first published in 1955-65. Includes "Hub Fans Bid Kid Adieu", on Ted Williams. 8vo, yellow cloth with usual Knopf gilt lettering, top edge tinted brown, unusually heavy foxing to boards, soil to their exposed edges, only faint foxing to text-block edges, minimal shelf wear, in unclipped, age-toned DJ with 1" tear in front panel at top, raggedy along crown, normal shelf wear to bottom, light foxing to interior. "Good" rating is a compromise between the foxed boards and the mostly clean pages - only one margin bracket in pencil observed, and a tiny pencil note on rfep.

Berthoff Books sells books previously owned by the late Prof. Warner B. Berthoff, Professor of English and American Literature, emeritus, at Harvard University; the late Prof. Ann E. Berthoff, Professor of English, emerita, at U. Mass.-Boston, and members of their family. Some books contain highlighting and marginalia by the Berthoffs or other previous owners, which we aim to describe accurately.

Shipping terms
DOMESTIC SHIPPING RATES ARE BASED ON TOTAL WEIGHT OF PACKAGE AND FOR MULTIPLE BOOKS WILL USUALLY BE LESS THAN THE SUM OF THE RATES SHOWN PER BOOK.
Our standard domestic shipping rate is based on USPS Media Mail rates for the weight of a given package. Books are packaged in bubble-pack envelopes or a cardboard box with moisture protection. International shipping rates are based on shipments weighing up to 2 lb (0.9 kg). Heavier or oversized items may be subject to extra shipping charges. International Priority Mail shipping charges may be reduced on books that fit in a USPS small flat-rate box. International Standard (First-Class Package International) shipping charges may be reduced for a second or more books if the total package weight does not exceed 2 lb.
Shipping speeds are estimates based on carrier delivery times and cannot be guaranteed. If your order will pass through Customs, there may be a delay. Any applicable Customs duties or brokerage fees are the responsibility of the buyer.
