First British edition, London: W.H. Allen, 1956. a few odd light spots to fore-edge. Original red cloth, previous owner's neat gift inscription on front blank (from Mr and Mrs Fraser 1956), dust-jacket with trivial rubbing to corners, not clipped, in an acetate protector. An exceptionally clean and bright copy of a book that is rare in UK and USA first editions. Book was the basis of the Orson Welles film 'Touch of Evil'. 'Whit Masterson' was a pseudonym for the literary partnership of Robert Allison 'Bob' Wade and H. Bill Miller. Seller Inventory # 110295
