[American literature] FIRST UK EDITION. Octavo (20 x 14 cm), pp.241. Publisher's blue hardback cloth binding in pictorial dust-jacket priced 18s. A fine copy of the book with some loose associated news-clippings tucked in. Bright jacket has some remnants of tape strips along top and lower edges. Shows well. This novel chronicles the events surrounding the author's three brief sojourns to a cabin in Bixby Canyon, Big Sur, which was owned by Kerouac's friend and Beat poet Lawrence Ferlinghetti.
