Dustwrapper is price-cut to top of front flap, is edge rubbed with a couple of small tears and rear panel is slightly grubby. There is a small patch of surface paper damage to front panel of wrapper. Attractive first printing of this Biggles story, in attractive dust jacket with six full page mono illustrations. The book is fine with just a little hint of spotting to text block edges but very clean and tight inside. There are no marks or inscriptions. Originally published in hardback in 1968, this is one of the harder-to-find Biggles titles, and is here reprinted in hardback for the first time. The new dustwrapper is by Andrew Skilleter, who has also drawn a b/w frontispiece. Skilleter has also added an ORIGINAL colour drawing of 3 of the main characters to the ffep.
