Four volumes. All Firsts Editions, published 1927, 1928, 1936 & 1939. Quartos. Bound in red cloth covered hard boards, gilt titling. Illustrated with 100 colour plates across the four volumes. A comprehensive work on this subject. The spines of volumes 3 and 4 are heavily sunned and faded, some general wear to the boards. Volume 1 lower half of the spine also faded, though less than the other two volumes noted above. Previous owner names (three previous owners) in each volume. Front panel of the original dust jacket of volume 1 and 2 pasted to the inside front board. Overall in Good condition, though the spine fade is most obvious and is reflected in the price for this set. [Heavy, weighs over 6kg before packing]. Seller Inventory # X716
