Each volume is in the publisher's original full maroon cloth decorative binding complete with a pop-up folding frontispiece to front paste-downs and richly illustrated with vignette photographs and diagrams throughout. Gilt lettering to the spines with black lettering and decorations to the front boards. Boards exceptionally bright and clean. No inscriptions. All 3 bindings in near fine (or better) condition, square and sound, very minimally shelf worn to edges. The RARE Original plain brown paper dustwrappers which for Volumes I and III are in good only torn condition and suffer loss. Volume II has a lovely near fine dustwrapper with just a touch of wear. Leaves within are unmarked and clean, lightly age toned. The presence of the dustwrappers has ensured that all three volumes of the books themselves are in outstanding condition. Vol I with many hundred illustrations; pop-up colour frontispiece in very good condition titled Model of 15 HP Motor Car Chassis (Wolseley) Designation of the parts indicated by numerals 1 -28. 213 pp. Vol II with many hundred illustrations, pop-up colour frontispiece in very good condition titled The Precision Water Cooled 3 1/2 H P Engine , parts designated by numerals 1 - 19. 213 pp. Vol III with over 250 illustrations, pop-up colour frontispiece titled Model of the Bosch Magneto . Parts indicated by numerals 1 - 15 b. 212 pp plus 4 pp. index. Volume I contains eight stand-alone plates, volume II eight plates and volume III seven plates. Collated and complete. Printed by Hazel, Watson and Viney LD. The books deliver technical insights into motoring at the start of the twentieth century, detailing the engineering and technology of the motor car.
