This publication deals with the plants pictured in the Moninckx Atlas and four other books by Jan and Casper Commelin. A presentation copy from harry Oppenheimer to Prof Eric Axelson; "To Eric Axelson with many thanks and vert best wishes from Harry Oppenheimer 5th sept 1984" Harry Oppenheimer off course being the very famous south african industrialist and founder of the Brenthurst Library and Press, Prof Axelson contributed to many of teh Brenthurst publications. Eric Axelson was Professor of History at The University of the Witwatersrand. In 1938, after research conducted in Portugal, England and Italy he discovered the Padrão de São Gregório at Kwaaihoek in the Eastern Cape Province of South Africa. This Padrão or stone cross, was erected by Bartolomeu Dias on 12 March 1488 when he became the first European navigator to round the Southern tip of Africa, in search of a sea route to India.

Economy Shipping (USA Only)
- Only valid for orders under $800
- We offer a consolidated tracked shipping service to reduce costs.
- Shipments are picked up every Tuesday and fly out the following week. Due to this schedule, delivery times can be up to 20 days.
Packaging & Protection
We take great care to ensure that your items arrive in perfect condition. Our packaging process includes:
- Colompac boxes imported from Europe for international shipments.
- Books are placed in ziplock bags for additional protection. This is particularly useful in regions where parcels may be left exposed to rain or snow.
- All books are bubble-wrapped before being secured in Colompac boxes for added protection.
If you have any specific packaging requests, please let us know, and we will do our best to accommodate them.
