About this Item
First UK edition, first printing. Publisher's original black cloth, with gilt titles to the spine, in the Bob Goolden photographic dustwrapper. A better than very good copy, the binding square and firm, with light bumping to the spine tips, the boards a touch bowed and a small light white mark to the bottom of the rear board. The contents, with all edges of the text block lightly marked, are otherwise clean throughout and free from inscriptions or stamps. Complete with the lightly rubbed and creased dustwrapper. Not price clipped (£2.90 net to the front flap). Scarce UK edition. Published posthumously, first in the United States in 1973, 'The Case of the Irate Witness' was the only short story Gardner wrote featuring his most famous character, criminal defense lawyer Perry Mason. Also containing three other novelettes, 'The Jeweled Butterfly', 'Something Like a Pelican' and 'A Man is Missing' (Hubin). Further details and images for any of the items listed are available on request. Lucius Books welcomes direct contact with our customers. Seller Inventory # 24742
