Paperback. Condition: New. Print on Demand. This book is a character-driven narrative that follows the interconnected lives of individuals living on the fringes of society in 1920âs Australia. Through a cast of vividly realized characters including a tattooed lady, a sword-swallower, a midget, and a giant, the author explores themes of identity, social alienation, and the human need for connection. Set against the backdrop of a traveling carnival, the author weaves a poignant tale of broken dreams, resilience, and the enduring power of the human spirit. This book offers a unique perspective on the lives of marginalized individuals in this period of Australian history, and its insights into the human condition remain relevant and poignant today. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format.
