About this Item
[Crime Mystery] LEATHER-BOUND FIRST EDITION. Octavo (19 x 13cm), pp.[2] 256 [2]. Recently re-bound in burgundy half calf, with gilt titles to spine, raised bands, and matching cloth over boards. All edges trimmed, with the original publisher's cloth spine bound in at rear. Some browning and spotting to half-title and final page of text. A small tear to margin of p.7/8, carefully repaired. Light spotting to edges. Presented in an attractive new leather binding. Very good. Less of a detective novel, and more of a spy thriller, this novel draws on Christie's own experiences working alongside her husband, Max Mallowan, in archaeological digs in the region.
