First edition. An incomplete run of 41 issues of Catch! Your Guide to Better Fishing, "A Marshall Cavendish handbook in 52 Weekly Parts." The magazines were released in 1987-88 and each issue includes six articles on either Reading the Water, Tackle Choice, Fish File, Better Bait, Better Fishing, Fish Away, or Specimen Hunting. The articles provide details on specific fish and where to find them, tips, how to practice, discussions on equipment, etc. for Great Britain and Ireland, with occasional pieces on fishing outside of the Isles. There seem to be a number of articles about catching sharks. Our set includes 33 issues in two branded hardcover binders plus 8 loose issues. Binder 1: Issues 1 through 18, lacking #4. Binder 2: Issues 19 through 35, with #22 loose and lacking #33. The other loose issues are #36, 37, 38, 42, 46, and 49, with an extra copy of #23. In a pocket at the back of each binder is an index for 18 issues and some ad material. Each issue: Staple-bound, thin card covers; 32 pages; color photos, diagrams, illustrations, and maps throughout; 9 x 5.75 inches. Listed as consultants are John Wilson and Trevor Housby. Condition: The individual magazines show minimal signs of handling; most are Near Fine to Fine. One of the binders has a patch of paper-remains stuck to it.
