A charming first edition of David Lodge's Changing Places, the first book in his Campus Trilogy which was influenced by his experiences teaching at a university. Lodge was an English academic and novelist becoming a literature professor at the University of Birmingham as well as teaching at other universities across the world. He retired in 1987 to focus on writing full-time, where he penned almost twenty novels and many works of criticism, including The Art of Fiction. First edition; 8vo (22 x 14.5 cm); slight spots to extreme top edges of some leaves, else very good; publisher's orange boards with gilt lettering to spine, original yellow dust-jacket with blue and orange text, a little faded to spine, some light spots to rear panel and internal flaps, minor signs of wear to extremities, light spotting to top edge, very good; 234pp.
