The first edition of this scarce work by Edmund Chisholm Batten documenting charters of the Beauly priory. The first edition.Scarce.In the publisher's original cloth.Illustrated with a monochrome frontispiece.This work was written by Edmund Chisholm Batten and provides an account and documentation of the grants and charters awarded to the Priory of Beauly. Beauly is a town in Inverness-Shire in Scotland. The priory was a Valliscaulian monastic community and was believed to be founded by John Byset, to which this book discusses along with his family. In the publisher's original cloth. Externally very smart with fading to the spine, marks to the boards, bumping and slight rubbing to the extremities and very small closed tears to the tail of the spine. Front hinge tender and rear hinge starting with slight minor marks to the endpapers and an old ink inscription dated 1930 to the front free endpaper. Internally binding tender with very lightly age toned pages and occasional minor marks. Pencil annotations to the rear free endpaper and a minor ink inscription to the title page dated 1902.
