A gift message from previous owner in blue ink to flyleaf, very light spotting throughout, toning to edges of textblock, bumping to spine and edges, sunned dust-jacket, some tearing. Very good. G. E. Hutchinson (sometimes referred to as the 'father of modern ecology') was a British born ecologist; he dedicated much of his professional life to the chemistry and biology of lakes. This book is about his travels. Although he set out on his journey as a biologist, he attempts to combine and draw attention to the religion, art, natural history, and the landscape of the places he visits.
