Printed wrappers, 4to, 26 cm, 45, [2] pp, ills. 57 entries. Horblit gathered together some selected manuscripts and a great deal of memorabilia from Philiipps' remarkable library. .A significant number of Horblit's choicest items now reside in Houghton Library. .This catalogue and exhibition show only a fraction of the treasures that Harrison Horblit has shared with Harvard. His gifts to Houghton Librarv include forty-one incunabula, volumes from the first half centurv of printing: sixteen of them are shown here. Of the manuscripts, ranging from what is apparently the earliest papal bull in America (early twelfth centurv) to a letter from Sigmund Freud on King Lear, only two are in the catalogue. Of a large number of 'STC' items - English printing before 1641-eleven are included. On the exhibition labels and in the catalogue that follows, I have tried to indicate the significance of each item either as a text or .is an object, or both."
