Orig. boards, orig. green cloth spine embossed and colour-printed onlay: 'The Royal Visit to Natal Official Programme'; sl. rubbing to corners. Not on Copac; National Library of South Africa only on Worldcat. The Duke and Duchess, from 1910 King George V & Queen Mary, made a nine month tour of the British Empire (except India) on HMS Ophir, to thank the Dominions for assistance during the Boer War 1899-1902. This Official Visit was coordinated by C.W.P. Douglas-de-Fenzi, Hon. Sec., Colonial Reception Committee; the programme details 141 elements, concluding with arrangements for Ladysmith and the visit to Spion Kop. Natal was a colony from 1843 and became a province of the Union of South Africa in 1910.
