First edition in book form, originally it was published in Beeton's Christmas Annual for 1872 - No printer or publisher stated - Original green cloth w/ gilt titles to spine - "A few copies for private circulation were produced at six shillings, with illustrations, uniform with the current edition of (Tennyson's) Idyllls. I have never seen one." (Sadler 3477). This copy is illustrated - Corners bumped w/ boards exposed - Some slight fraying to spine ends - Covers a little rubbed - Edges of text block toned - Previous owner's name in ink on front pastedown endpaper - Book ow/ solid, clean and tight - 245 pages.
