6-3/4" x 8-1/2", xvi + 816pp. Gathered / sewn signatures with intact backing but lacking boards. The front of the book is missing the front free end paper and the half title page (the title page is the first intact page in this copy); the back of the book has the marbled free end paper. A small piece is missing from the bottom fore corner of this end paper, and the same corner is slightly tipped. Marbling to all three edges of the book block, now a bit faded. The book block is square, the binding is tight. A bit of age toning, some minor spotting to the pages, which remain clean and unmarked.

Canada's oldest independent bookstore, the People's Co-operative Bookstore Association was formed in 1945 by a broad coalition of Vancouver's progressive movements, from trade unionists and Marxists to social democrats and Christian social justice activists. Owned and operated by its member-shareholders, it is a registered co-op operating under the Co-operative Associations Act of British Columbia. Anyone can join. Since 1983, the People's Co-op Bookstore has been located at 1391 Commercial, in the heart of Commercial Drive. Open 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. seven days a week, the People's Co-op offers a selection of 20,000 new and used books at its brick and mortar location, with a selection of specialized and uncommon books listed on our Abebooks account.
