By Richard Dolby and printed in London by Henry Colburn and Richard Bentley. 1830, 1st edition, 516 pp, 8.5 x 5.5 , 8vo, hardcover full cloth. As-is, with rubbing and wear to exterior. Front hinge and first several pages torn and essentially detached. Light markings and marginalia. Fading to label on spine. Remainder of text block bound well. Includes tables of foods in season and small selection of other books by the publisher at rear. General age-related toning to pages, along with periodic foxing and wear. Please see photographs and ask any questions prior to purchasing. A scarce 1st edition in its original cloth. Written by Richard Dolby, this popular Georgian piece claimed to be the first one to be arranged alphabetically. Its popularity led to multiple reprints and additions, including in 1832 and 1833.
