In half blue cloth over colourful boards. Spine faded, ink title in ms along board edge. Internally, 4 pp, 2 illustrations (1 coloured & 1 B&W-calligraphic script) by David Jones, 2 blank leaves, not dated but 1954, first UK edition (the US one appeared in 1956 - A66b), red endpapers (tiny bit of red has bled over onto top edge, pencil name to epd (Anne Appleby). A part of the Ariel Poems new series. (215*138 mm). (Gallup AA66a). The poem is an essay in verse form that reflects on the various attitudes towards Christmas and the importance of preserving the childlike wonder and joy of the holiday season 0.
