Please note that, in spite of its title, this book has no illustrations (as published). A sheet of old paper has been stuck to the verso of the half title with hand written ink notes concerning the Author. Some associated newspaper columns from The Times, August, 1864 have been bound-in at p.46 and the Errata at the end have been crossed out and the word 'corrected' written in. Some light foxing throughout, heavier to prelims and untrimmed foredge. Light soiling to grey paper-covered boards. A VERY GOOD COPY. The adjoining property was also later acquired and the bookshop greatly extended.
