First edition in English of one of the most famous Holocaust diaries, often compared to that of Anne Frank, which it parallels. Heyman, a 13-year-old Hungarian Jew, recorded life under the German occupation of Hungary before being murdered at Auschwitz in October 1944. It was first published in Hungarian in 1947, and in Hebrew in 1964. Octavo. Original green cloth, spine lettered in brown. With dust jacket. Unclipped jacket a little toned: a fine copy in near-fine jacket.
