The Doctrine of Interest and Annuities Analytically Investigated and Explained

First edition. 15 pages of preliminaries, 144 pages, an engraved plate of charts, then unnumbered tables in folio format, running from A to Q2. The book is fairly firmly bound in mid or late-Victorian black half-calf over marbled paper covered boards, with marbled endpapers front and rear and speckling to all edges of the text block. It has suffered water damage to the lower quarter, the boards are slightly bowed and stained, the leather is rubbed and beginning to split, and the paper is slightly marked, rubbed and chipped. The text block is slightly foxed, marked and age toned, with signs of water staining throughout, increasing to the lower edges of the pages towards the rear. There are occasional passages highlighted in pencil, and a small bookbinder's label to the rear pastedown, that of C. & E. Layton. More recently it has resided in the archives of the RSA Insurance Group with their barcode strip to the top of the first blank.
